Doctrine of Scriptures and Hermeneutics

How was our Bible formed? How do we know what books should be in the Bible? What is the ultimate authority, tradition, Church, or Holy Scripture, and how do we know? Do you know how to interpret the Bible? Is there really an objective method? You will learn how the early fathers understood Holy Scripture, the various kinds of genre in Scripture, and be much more confident in your understanding of what the final authority for the Church really says! Old Testament Poetical Books

These include Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon. Taught by the Rt. Rev. Daniel R. Morse, who studied Hebrew in Israel, these books will open up for you. Bishop Morse has the unique gift of making things clear and simple. You will see the worship of the Church in the Psalms and the practical wisdom in Proverbs, and much more.

Patristics

Taught by the Rev. Dr. John Fenwick from England, Ph.D., Dr. Fenwick has traveled widely, was in the office of the Archbishop of Canterbury at one time, and did his Ph.D. in liturgy in the early fathers. His accent is a delight to hear, but his unfolding of the early fathers is even better. It is very encouraging to know that what we believe is what the early fathers taught. The Church has not changed the essence of its belief in 2,000 years, for God's truth of the Gospel is unchanging!

Liturgics 1

The Rev. Dr. Daniel K. Dunlap did his Ph.D. thesis under Alister McGrath at Oxford in liturgics, and I know of no one who is more qualified to teach this course. You will study the history of liturgical worship, the theological principles, and examples of worship that the Church has used over the centuries, beginning in the early church and going up to about the time of the Reformation.

Liturgics 2

Also taught by the Rev. Dr. Daniel K. Dunlap. Liturgical worship and especially the history of the Book of Common Prayer, along with the theological principles that undergird it, will be covered from the time just before Henry VIII to today.

39 Articles of Religion

Taught by Dr Curtis Crenshaw, who was reared a Baptist, pastored as a Presbyterian for many years, and now is a committed Anglican. You will learn much about the differences in Reformation standards, the ancient Creeds, application of the 39 Articles in our time, and much more! You'll come away knowing the Anglican faith!

Apologetics

The Rev Frank Levi has studied movements, philosophies, and world religions most of his life, having taught such on secular college campuses for many years. You will not only learn how to defend the Christian faith from secular, hostile attacks (and how to counter them), but also how to approach those of other world religions, such as Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism.
