The Institute for Ministerial Formation
The Institute for Ministerial Formation (IMF) is an intentional formation program, whose purpose is to offer ongoing, post-ordination human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral formation.
The IMF offers a twofold approach, providing a venue for priests:
The formation will be tailored to current needs in the Church as it wrestles with contemporary cultural questions and challenges and issues of perennial concerns, both theological and practical
Program Expectations:
Initial private retreat in priests’ home town, to prepare for upcoming program
Opening five-day residential retreat
(June 1-5, 2026) at Prince of Peace Abbey, Oceanside, California
Closing four-day residential retreat
(August 2027 - final dates TBD) at Price of Peace Abbey, Oceanside, CA
Monthly spiritual direction for the duration of the program
Monthly or quarterly Zoom meetings with IMF cohort
Attendance and cohort dinner at Clericus in January 2027
Program Outcomes:
Grow closer to God through the formation of one’s interior life
Come to a greater understanding of the Christian intellectual tradition
Develop additional competencies in the cure of souls

14-month program tuition: $2,750*
*Transportation to Prince of Peace Abbey not included in this total
