A Statement on Accreditation
CTH is not currently accredited by any secular accrediting organization, governmental agency, or theological accrediting association. CTH is licensed by the REC Theological Commission, relying on the integrity of the REC and her origination in 1873 for its ultimate legitimacy. CTH does not directly offer or confer civil academic degrees on the authority of the State of Texas. Successful CTH graduates are awarded the appropriate titles and licensure of their qualifications directly by the REC Diocese of Mid-America under the direction of the REC Theological Commission. CTH’s credits are widely accepted by national and international institutions and denominations for ordination purposes, but there is no guarantee of such.
CTH was recently honored to have the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) Board of Directors vote unanimously to recommend Cranmer Theological House Seminary to its membership. On June 23, 2026, the ATS membership voted CTH into Associate Member status. CTH will continue the ATS process to become an accredited member over the next few years. NOTE: Associate Member status does NOT entitle CTH to participate in Title IV programs from the U.S. Department of Education Office of Federal Student Aid.

Cranmer Theological House is an Associate Member of The Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS), but not an Accredited Member with the ATS Commission on Accrediting.
